Transitioning to natural hair can feel like such a process. You get tired of looking at your roots. The faded color on the ends isn’t appealing. You might look in the mirror and just wonder is it even worth it? Should I keep growing the natural or just color over it?

For example, those with warmer skin tones normally will have warmer tones in their hair. “My natural hair is boring.” Think again, no one else has your unique genetic makeup. Just think, as much as we love seeing you here every 3 weeks to get your color refreshed, that’s a lot for your bank account. Instead, with your natural look you can come in for a trim every 6-8 weeks. You could even have a little more to spend on that delicious smelling shampoo your stylist uses on your hair.
Ok, I’m convinced, but how?
The ‘how’ can feel complicated. The process is different for everyone. Primarily the condition your hair is in now can play a huge role in the process. The first step is to communicate and consult with your stylist. Let them know your goals and worries, they know your hair better than anyone. They will address your needs and concerns and help you make a plan to combat those concerns.
“I’m afraid of seeing a band of roots, I need it to be blended.” Don’t stress! Adding dimensional pieces into your hair will break up the growth band. Typically if you are darker or lighter going back to grey, the process is similar. You begin by adding more of what you already love about your natural hair. Whether that be the darker pieces or the lighter pieces is up to you. In the end it’s all about getting the right tone.
