Idaho Winter Haircare Tips
November 11, 2024Facials are a fantastic way to relax and pamper yourself while caring for your skin! What has been treated as a luxury for so long is slowly starting to gain popularity! If this is your first facial, it can be a little stressful when deciding what to wear, how to act, and really just what to expect in general! Don’t worry, we’re here to help you feel as prepared as possible when going into your facial!
What to Wear
Most places you go to for a facial will give you a gown, robe, or wrap to wear during your facial, so it’s a good idea to wear something you’re comfortable in that’s easy to take on and off. You will probably want to skip the dangly earrings and necklaces as well, or just remember to take them off before your facial starts.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room… your bra. Do you take it off?? Do you leave it on?? What should you do?? If you feel comfortable taking it off, then take it off. The reason being, your Aesthetician applies products and massages your shoulders and decollete. Many people don’t want products to get on their bra, so they choose to take it off. Don’t worry, you’ll be covered. You can also talk to your Esthetician about any concerns you have of being covered, and they can help cater to you to make you feel comfortable!
As for shoes, choose something easy to slip on and off. You’re going to feel so relaxed after your facial, you probably don’t want to mess with complicated shoes. Something quick, easy, and comfortable is the best way to go in terms of footwear!
For the Best Experience Possible…
In order to get the most out of your facial, we recommend you show up on time. If your Aesthetician sent any forms for you to fill out, try to do that before your appointment. If you weren’t able to, it’s a good idea to show up a couple minutes early just in case there are forms for you to fill out at the spa. These are usually just asking questions about health history, skin history, and preferences.
- Ask questions. Your Aesthetician is there to give you the best experience possible and care for your skin. Asking questions and voicing your concerns is the best way to help them cater the appointment to you!
- Change your pillowcase when you get home. Your pillow case tends to harbor a lot of gunk and bacteria, so make sure you change it so you can keep your skin clean and healthy after your appointment!
- Skip the Makeup just for the next 24 hours or so. Your pores were able to be unclogged and cleansed, your areas of concern treated, and you’re glowy and fresh. One of the worst things you could do is apply makeup after getting a facial, especially if you’ve had facial extractions done. Let your skin rest and heal before applying makeup products.
- Leaving important information out of your consultation or intake forms is not the best idea. Your Aesthetician asks these questions to help them know the best products for you and any contraindications they need to know about before starting your service.
- Skip the gym just for the day! You can go back to it tomorrow. You don’t want sweat to get into your fresh pores and clog them back up.
If you are able to, leave your phone on silent to help you unplug and fully relax. Minimizing distractions are a great way to get the most out of your service.
Should you talk during your facial?
It’s up to you! Some people love talking and asking questions during the appointment. Others want complete silence. You, as the client, get to choose the conversation level. You can chat the whole time, fall asleep, and whatever level of conversation in between! We just want you to enjoy your experience!
