What is the CAN Room?
The CAN room is a very special room that was inspired by salon owner, Tami Hymas, for cancer patients and wigs for cancer patients. It is called the CAN room because we want to help encourage cancer patients and remind them it’s ok to be ok, and it’s ok to not be ok.
The CAN room is a separate room from the rest of the salon. This private area is great for clients who would appreciate a little privacy, or who feel vulnerable sharing this part of their life with a whole salon.
What to Expect.
In the CAN room, we have 2 chairs! So feel free to bring a friend or a loved one! We have wigs that have been donated, pamphlets for wigs, and other needs for cancer patients such as wig caps, wig stands, halos, and toppers.
When you call the salon, all you have to say is that you would like a haircut and/or wig fitting or styling in the CAN room. You don’t need to say more unless you feel inclined to do so. If you are unsure of what you need, you may ask for a consultation in the CAN room and your stylist will help guide you through the next steps.
In this room your stylist can shave your head if needed, we can cut your hair in a way to help you fit a wig over, we can cut and style your wig, we can help you measure, color match, and order you a new wig.
We are a S.A.F.E. Salon.
Because we are a S.A.F.E. salon (Strong Advocate For Everyone), our CAN room is not only for cancer patients. We have done makeup, prom styles, haircuts, and styles for people with disabilities, and we do facial waxing in this room. It’s a special room that holds special memories for many people. If you want a private appointment, it’s as simple as asking for an appointment in the CAN room!
