You did it! You booked your wax appointment. Let’s get you ready to come in! Here are a few tips for before and after your appointment so you can come prepared and feel confident!
Before you book your wax appointment be sure to have long enough hair to have a successful appointment. The hair should at least be 1/4 inch long so the wax can grab the hair correctly.
If you’re concerned about pain, you can find a numbing cream to apply before your wax, or you can talk an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen as well. Breathing, and staying calm can also help with the pain.
We recommend ditching the super-tight clothing when coming to your wax appointment. When you wear comfy, loose-fitting clothing, it helps reduce friction, which means you can avoid ingrown hairs!
Like any service, staying calm and communicating with your Esthetician is a great way to have an amazing experience! Estheticians aren’t here to judge anyone’s body. We all have them, and we all have things we may not be super confident in about our bodies. We want to help you be more confident and happy, so if that means removing hair from your legs, face, or intimate areas, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
After your wax appointment, try not to shave in between your next wax as it will interrupt the process. Waxing will be better than shaving all in all because it will allow your hair to grow back thinner and at a much slower rate.
How long the post-wax growth will last depends on your hair growth cycle. But it usually lasts about 1-3 weeks before seeing much hair growth. The more you wax, the longer it will last because your hair growth will become synchronized, and the less it will hurt!
