Wig Fitting and Styling for Cancer Patients

When you get diagnosed with cancer, there are so many questions that run through your head. It can be really overwhelming. Tami Hymas, the owner of The beUtofullness Way by Tami’s Salon and Spa, always wanted a safe space for cancer patients to come and find answers to their hair questions. When her mom was diagnosed with cancer, Tami made accommodating cancer patients a reality in her salon. If this is a reality for you, or someone you care about, here’s how the fitting and styling process will go for your appointment.

How We Accommodate Cancer Patients

Here at The beUtofullness Way by Tami’s Salon and Spa, we can help you order your wig from TLC Wigs. We can help cancer patients find all the options they need, whether that is getting a new haircut, being fitted and ordering a new wig, or cutting and styling their current wig.

Ask for your appointment in the CAN room for a private appointment in a separate room in the salon, here, we can measure your head, color match your wig if needed, and help you learn how to wear and adjust your wig. We even have cancer survivors donate their own wigs to cancer patients.

To fit your wig, we simply measure the circumference of your head, ear to ear over the top, and ear to ear across the back. If you bring your own wig, then we can help you adjust the straps to fit comfortably.

We Want Your Wig to Look Like You

Most wigs for cancer are made with synthetic hair. This means it will hold a specific style, which is great! No fussing and styling! You can wet and condition it as needed and it will go in its style once again. However, we want your wig to look like you. Let us cut it into a great style that you feel comfortable and beautiful in. We also recommend a wig stand to hold your wig in place when you wish to not wear it.
