At Tami’s Salon and Spa we know that waxing has been around for centuries as a way to get rid of unwanted hair on any area of the body. It is a fantastic, convenient way to obtain smooth, hairless skin that will last you a few weeks! If you are thinking about getting a salon waxing service done for the first time, it’s important to know what the different waxes are and what they do.
We currently use 2 different types of wax at our salon & spa and it’s important to know the difference to know which type will be best for your skin and any skin conditions you may have!
Hard Wax
Hard wax is a gentler wax, especially for intimate and sensitive areas. This wax only sticks to the hair and it hardens on its own and allows it to pull off without a strip.
Soft Wax
Soft wax is a harsher wax that needs a strip to pull off. It sticks to the hair and a little bit of the skin, which causes the reaction to be more painful. This wax is especially great for any face area waxes because it grabs the small baby hairs better.
The Right Wax For You
There are so many different kinds of wax, and all with different ingredients. If you have known skin sensitivities, make sure you communicate with your Esthetician so we can help find the right wax for you. We do try to use wax that is okay to use on more sensitive skin to ensure the comfort of our clients.
