Going into your massage appointment, it’s important to have your questions answered so you can be informed, especially if it’s your first massage.
You should only undress to the level you feel comfortable. Keep in mind, your massage therapist will use draping techniques to keep you comfortable and will only uncover the area they are working on!
If something feels uncomfortable, let them know so they can adjust!
Generally, your massage shouldn’t hurt. There may be moments of discomfort while the massage therapist is working on a tense area, but it shouldn’t be too debilitating.
That being said, if the pressure is ever too intense, just ask your massage therapist to adjust the pressure. The same applies if you need a little more pressure. Just ask your massage therapist for more pressure.
You may feel a little sore over the next day or two, but once again, nothing too debilitating. Drinking water helps rehydrate your muscles and use ice on an area if you feel it’s too sore.
This is completely up to you! Some people love talking and actually relax more when they do. Other people really like their massage to be a time of peace and quiet.
You are also allowed to change your mind. If you start out talking and decide you want peace and quiet, or vice versa, that’s great! As Massage Therapists at Tami’s Salon, we will follow your lead.
