Summer is such a busy time for everyone! There’s so many activities going on, from family reunions to having fun outside, going on adventures, and even just finding time to relax and reset! While it’s busy, it’s important we remember to keep nourishing our hair so we can reach our hair goals! Here are some tips to help with your hair in the summer!
Getting the dry, split ends off your hair is a great start to healthy hair! It’s a misconception that if you’re growing out your hair you shouldn’t get your haircut. If you want to grow out your hair, it’s better to come in for trims so that way you can have less breakage, leading to healthier hair!
This goes for both adults and kids! Nothing is worse than sitting there with your brush or comb trying to get all the tangles out. Guess what, not only do you hate it, so does your hair! We need to be gentle with our hair. Using a detangler can help avoid breaking hair while detangling, and can soften your hair to prevent tangles! We have so many great options in the salon, so be sure to stop by and get one for you and your kids!
Swimming is a great way to cool off in the summer and keep your body healthy! Unfortunately, swimmers’ hair isn’t the best, especially if you have bleached or colored hair. Getting a clarifier or pre-tox spray is a great way to keep your hair healthy if you’re an avid swimmer! We have fantastic options in the salon as well, so be sure to ask about them next time you’re in!
Deep conditioning in the summer is SO important! Summer in Idaho usually involves a lot of outside activities that can dry out our hair. It’s important to deep condition our hair to ensure we are locking in as much hydration as possible! This also helps prevent the split ends and breakage that can happen with dry hair. Usually, you can use a deep conditioner once a week, but if you’re wanting a more tailored to you answer, ask your beUtofullness certified stylist for their recommendation!
When you are out and about doing all of the fun summer activities we tend to do, make sure you’re mindful of the styles your hair is in. For example, if you’re going to be doing an activity, like riding ATV’s, where the wind will be whipping through your hair, you wouldn’t want your hair to be down. This can cause numerous tangles and knots to form in your hair and can be very painful and difficult to get out. Instead, opt for a braid so your hair is protected from the wind! For the day to day, instead of reaching for your hot tool, dry out some fun heatless styles! Luckily, heatless styles are really trendy right now! Experiment and have fun with them!
