With all that talk about hair wash days and how dry shampoo is saving lives, it poses a pretty big question… How often should we wash our hair?
I wish I could tell you that it’s as easy as “every person needs to wash their hair this many times” because honestly, that would be amazing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that.
The answer is what you’re comfortable with and what fits your hair and lifestyle. Some people love washing their hair every day, and others wash daily due to their lifestyle. For others, it works really well to wash their hair every other day, or 2-3 times a week.
That being said, it’s also SO important to remember that unwashed hair can stink. Our bodies secrete oil on our scalp that goes into our hair, and environmental elements get caught in it too, not to mention, smells we pick up from going places. That is why you don’t want to go too long between washes.
On the flip side, washing your hair too frequently can dry it out or fade certain colors faster. We reccomend a color-safe, moisturizing, or hydrating shampoo and conditioner to combat those issues.
